A Call to Fast and Pray
“Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word of God.” (Lk.4:4)”
This past Sunday we were presented with the immediate and ongoing need for increased giving in order for the church to meet its monthly loan obligation and operating cost.
The various options for the church were also presented, thank God for the hard work and knowledge of our trustee board to come up with those options.
We are calling for a unified fast and prayer and your personal reading of God’s word to present as one voice to God dedicating this time solely to Him that He will provide the means for the entire church loan to be paid in full!
This will put the church in the position for increased out-reach ministry, in-house ministry and most importantly that the word of God will continue to flow in the preaching and teaching of His word from this facility to build up each other and spread the gospel of Jesus Christ!
We are asking the membership to fast from 6:00 a.m. this Saturday to 6:00 a.m. Sunday, Oct.1st. This is not a call to deprive you of the time used to take care of the daily responsibilities (work, school and child care), but a call to devote your time in fasting for this specific matter before our Lord.
Our request is for those who are able, to fast with water only but if needed a little juice is fine.
Caution! If you have a medical condition or are taking medication that requires you to take it with food, continue to follow your Doctor’s instructions and the prescribed instruction on your medication labels.
We are calling on the clergy, associate ministers, trustees and deacons, to start their fast this Thursday at 6:00 a.m. and end it Sunday, Oct.1st at 6:00 a.m.
For all married couples, follow the instruction of scripture, (1Cor.7:4-6).
We all know our various limitations. Not all can do a full fast but we can all be united before God in presenting as one voice and agreed time of devotion to present this need to our God.
